Dr. Rupinder Dhaliwal graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Science with High Distinction, majoring in Health Sciences and minoring in Physics and Psychology. He then went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery with Honours from the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry. During his studies, he was accepted into several externships, including: Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas and the New Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan, New York, as well as Endodontics (root canal treatment) and Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Moreover, he spent a summer providing dental services in Moose Factory Cree Native reserve at the Weeneebayko General Hospital.
Dr. Dhaliwal strongly believes in patient education, prevention, and being as thorough as possible. Don’t be surprised if you find him taking pictures of your teeth with his iPhone during a check-up or treatment. It’s his goal to make sure that patients understand what is going on. He is well aware that being in a dental chair is not on anybody’s fun list and makes it his priority to be as gentle as possible.
Despite being a dentist, Dr. Dhaliwal has got quite the sweet tooth and can often be found indulging in a cookie, donut, or Timbit during lunch. He is a TV junkie and often gets side-tracked when talking about the Wire or Game of Thrones.
